At the Conor McGregor Anti Social UFC Social Club shirt But I will love this University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, some of the students were “Youpers” from the UP (Upper Peninsula) in the far north of the state. Whenever the weather got really cold a few of them would show up in T-shirts and the like and run around saying things like “You call this cold? Up in the UP, this would be a balmy day!!” It depends. I wouldn’t wear a flannel shirt with a suit coat and tie. I likely also wouldn’t wear it to a house of worship, unless it was really, really cold outside. I did wear one to my dear grandma’s funeral. She died about 3 weeks before Christmas, and the request from the family was to wear something festive celebrating the Christmas season to the funeral. Now, I really didn’t want to wear my Grinch that Stole Christmas hoodie, so instead I wore a red and black fleece flannel shirt and black jeans to her funeral, where I served as a pallbearer. One of my cousins wore a snowman sweater. So, yes, sometimes you can get away with wearing a flannel shirt as formal wear. But most of the time, the answer is gonna be no.
